Submission Guidelines and Forms<\/span><\/strong>

The Coffey County Republican<\/span><\/em>\u00a0regularly accepts and prints submitted stories, photos and information from correspondents and readers. To better facilitate this process, please follow the guidelines below that apply to your submission.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Inclusion of submitted items will be based on community relevance and immediacy of the news items. Submit items by noon Monday for consideration for that week’s edition.<\/p>\n

Letters to the Editor<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
The Coffey County Republican encourages Letters to the Editor on any topic of public interest.
\nLetters should be clear and to the point. They must be signed and carry the address and phone number of the author.

We do not publish anonymous letters<\/span><\/div>\n
We do not publish form letters or letters about topics which do not pertain to our area. Thank-yous from this area should be submitted to the classifieds desk.<\/span><\/div>\n
Letters will not be censored, but will be read and edited for form and style and legality. We will not publish attacks on individuals or businesses which do not pertain to public issues.<\/span><\/div>\n

Photo Submission<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
All photos should be sent in at the highest resolution possible (200-300 dpi or better, or 1 megabyte in file size or larger), in color and uncropped. Digital photos are preferred. Printed photos may be brought in for scanning; mailed photos will be returned with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.<\/span><\/div>\n

Photos submitted to\u00a0<\/span>The Republican<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>should be taken with journalistic intent for the purpose of recording the event. Try to avoid posed or \u201csnapshot\u201d style pictures whenever possible.<\/span><\/div>\n

The Republican<\/span><\/em>\u00a0accepts and prints community news events with relevance to Coffey County and our nearby coverage areas (including Hartford, Melvern, Westphalia, Quenemo, Reading, Neosho Rapids and Neosho Falls).<\/span><\/div>\n

Please submit as much information about the event as possible. Answer the who, what, where, when, why and how, and provide enough information for an outsider to understand. Please include a daytime phone number(s) of people who we can reach for clarification and additional information.<\/span><\/div>\n
